Supporting Castlebrae’s Christmas concert fundraising

Drew Donaldson Supporting Castlebrae’s Christmas concert fundraising

When Drew Donaldson, an S5 pupil at Castlebrae High School, and his classmates started to help plan their school Christmas concert, he took on the role of fundraising and sourcing prizes for the concert’s raffle to raise money for the school’s charity fund.

Part of his efforts saw him make a successful application to the Cameron Toll Community Fund resulting in him securing four £25 vouchers to be spent in the centre.

Lorna Coan, who is Drew’s teacher at Castlebrae High School said: “Drew and his classmates in the Additional Support Needs Base worked very hard to make the Christmas concert a success and as a result of that work the raffle raised a fantastic £842.  The school’s charity provides support for trips outside the school and makes donations to a charity who provide cookery training to local people.  We’re all very proud of him and we thank the Cameron Toll Community Fund for their donation, and supporting Drew’s efforts.”

Claire Jefcoate, centre manager at Cameron Toll added: “Drew’s application was very impressive and he explained why he was applying very clearly. We’re delighted to have been able to help him and his classmates raise such an impressive amount.”
