Boots Opticians was formed in 1983, with our first optical services practice opening in Nottingham. This was followed in 1984 by a further five stores: Peterborough, Leeds, Mansfield, Luton and Derby.
Since then we went on to expand to 286 practices nationwide, offering a wide range of services including eye examinations, digital retinal photography, glasses, contact lenses and accessories.
In the last year, a lot has changed at Boots Opticians. Boots Opticians merged with Dollond & Aitchison Opticians in May 2009. Both businesses had a strong heritage and an excellent reputation for service, customer care and quality products, which provided a great opportunity to combine these strengths and offer customers even better value for money, harnessing over 250 years of optical experience.
