Scran-Tastic Event at Gracemount Mansion

The vibrant South Edinburgh community added a new event to the calendar recently when the Friends of Gracemount Mansion charity hosted an event focussing on health & wellbeing.

The successful day saw visitors to Gracemount Mansion House enjoy a wide range of fun activities that included music, nature, wildlife and storytelling. There was also free food provided with funding from the Cameron Toll Community Fund.

Claire Jefcoate, centre manager at Cameron Toll said: “We received an application to our Community Fund for support for this brilliant community event and we were pleased to to fund the food provided by the social enterprise Scran Academy. A lot of hard work was put into organising such a fantastic and fun day.”

The charity is working towards reopening Gracemount Mansion House as a community hub offering a range of learning, volunteering, social, environmental and heritage activities to provide health, wellbeing and economic benefits for the community. They are also looking to offer spaces for music and art events, lectures, a base for outdoor educational and special interest groups, and social events e.g. parties, anniversary or weddings.
