New Kits Take Pride of Place
Having fun in a supportive, encouraging and inclusive environment is at the heart of Edinburgh South CFC’s Phoenix football team.
The team, which is made up by girls aged between 13 and 16, train twice weekly before their Saturday morning competitive matches played at Inch Park, next door to Cameron Toll shopping centre.
With the 2025 season firmly underway with a squad of 22 players, the team successfully applied to the Community Fund for sponsorship which would be used to purchase full training kits for each player.
Jade Fyfe, team manager, said: “As much as we enjoy the competitive nature of playing we also recognise that football can be used to promote the development of a healthy and active lifestyle. It also helps form lifelong friendships and builds important self-esteem which is beneficial for all aspects of life. We’re appreciative of the support from the Cameron Toll Community Fund and we’re proud to wear our new kits whenever we’re training or playing”
Claire Jefcoate, centre manager at Cameron Toll added: “We’ve supported many different Edinburgh South CFC teams and we’re delighted to add the Phoenix girls team to that list. We wish them well as the season progresses.”
