Consultation event update

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our recent Cameron Toll public consultation. It was fantastic to welcome over 400 people and hear so many thoughtful and positive comments about how important the centre is to the local community

regeneration plan

We know Cameron Toll plays a vital role locally, but we also recognise how much the retail landscape has changed in recent years. With significant upheaval across the UK high street, it’s important that we plan now to ensure the centre continues to thrive for decades to come.

The proposed £350m vision aims to regenerate Cameron Toll into a vibrant “20-minute neighbourhood”, retaining and improving shopping and leisure facilities (including protecting Sainsbury’s as the key anchor), introducing new retail and leisure options, and potentially a hotel.

The plans also include up to 500 new homes (with up to 175 affordable), student accommodation to help free up existing homes for families, a Tram-ready transport hub, and improvements to the Braid Burn walkway and connection to Inch Park.

Parking was the most discussed topic at the exhibition, and we’re working closely with user groups to ensure the right balance is achieved for shoppers, retailers and local residents.

The proposals align with the Council’s City Plan 2030, focusing on regenerating brownfield sites like Cameron Toll while protecting the Green Belt.

We’ll now be continuing the conversation through a community roadshow before submitting a planning application later this year.

Residents can read about the proposals here: www.camerontollmasterplan.co.uk and make comments directly on the website and should feel free to email any questions to CameronToll@cbre.com

Thank you again for helping shape the future of Cameron Toll, your feedback genuinely matters.
