A Community Fund has been launched by Cameron Toll Shopping Centre to support local groups and initiatives in south Edinburgh.
As a key part of the community, Cameron Toll Shopping Centre aims to provide vital financial support to more local projects which might include, but not be limited to, sports groups, music projects, environmental schemes and initiatives that support disabled people or the elderly.
The Community Fund will look to award up to £1000 each quarter to successful applicants to the fund.
Claire Jefcoate, centre manager at Cameron Toll Shopping Centre said: “The centre has been at the heart of the local community for over 30 years and the Community Fund aims to support local groups that play such an important role in making the area such a great place to live.
“We already sponsor the Edinburgh South U14s football team through our neighbours at the Inch Park Community Sports Club and we are keen to hear from other groups who play different roles in the community.
“A total of up to £1000 each quarter will be awarded and that could be to just one project or it could be to a number of different projects. Applications should explain what the money will be used for with every submission reviewed prior to a decision being made.”
Joe Sneddon, Trustee – Inch Park Community Sports Club said: “Cameron Toll and its business have been a great support over the years to Inch Park Community Sports Club and our Member Clubs Edinburgh South Community Football Club, Edinburgh South Cricket Club and Lismore Rugby Club. This Community fund is great news for the local community and will create a positive impact in the local area. Inch Park recently benefitted with support from the centre last year when it sponsored our Edinburgh SouthCFC U14s football team.”
