Prestonfield Primary School has been awarded £500 from the Cameron Toll Community Fund to purchase three new wooden balance beams as part of its exciting playground improvement project.

The funding will contribute to ongoing efforts to transform the school’s outdoor space, creating more opportunities for physical activity, imaginative play and outdoor learning. The new balance beams will encourage children to build confidence, improve coordination and enjoy active play during the school day.
The wider playground project includes plans to enhance existing facilities and make better use of the school’s large outdoor area, providing pupils with an engaging environment that supports both recreation and education.
Mhairi Archilbald, Chair of the Friends of Prestonfield said: “We’re passionate about creating a new outdoor space where children can learn, play and thrive. The support from the Cameron Toll Community Fund will help us bring our vision to life and provide exciting new opportunities for pupils to stay active and develop important physical skills.”
Claire Jefcote, Centre Manager at Cameron Toll, said: “We’re delighted to support the plans to enhance the playground at Prestonfield Primary School. Projects like this make a lasting difference by encouraging active play, outdoor learning and positive wellbeing, and we’re proud that the Community Fund can help bring these improvements to life.”
Friends of Prestonfield is the name of the Parent Council at Prestonfield Primary School.
